Information on Paro
As your plane beings its final descent into Paro Valley, you get your first glimpse of this Land of the Thunder Dragon: beautifully terraced, cast in shades of green, clusters of prayer flags blowing in the distance. The beautiful landscapes, scenic villages, and historic buildings of the land have creation peacefulness, some of the country's oldest temples and monasteries are here. Since the nation's only airstrip is also here, most trips to Bhutan begin and end in Paro. It's an unusually enchanting place of welcome, and one you will always remember.
The valley of Paro has many interesting sites and requires a few days to be properly explored.
